I have an 80 280ZX N/a 2+2 that will, in about 3 years, be completely one-off! I am having my whole shell remade into a sh*t load of things that fly around my head. all molds will be destroyed after my parts are made, two of everything! I have also played around with the idea of TT'ing it, but I will probably keep it N/A. I'll put up some pics later. But I warn you, it's ugly right now!

Right now I have a interior project going on. I am totally redoing the interior. With 2-tone blue and silver. Money is the problem right now. And as running wise, he only runs on 5 cylinders. And sometimes 6. I am not sure what is wrong with it. Could be a stuck valve. Or burnt one, I am not sure. I was going to try the ATF oil trick on it. To see if it will free up the parts. But I haven't got around to it yet. If you could show me how to post pics. I would be glad to, let me know, and I will post some on here.

I forgot mine on... I am going for a L3.0 280zx coupe with at least 450WHP at no more than 18psi, for less than 3000.00 in the engine as it looks now with only the SDS to buy, as well as the fuel pump and injectors, I will have 265.23 left when the motor is complete. This week it hits the body shop. Here are the before body pics. p.s. Wildman when you are posting look for the manage attachments button click. then choose the pic from your comp. ALSO pics of the engine are in my gallery.

my project...

1981 280zx 2 seat, t-top, 5 speed....

-rebuild head
-rebuild block with o-rings
-turbo internals
-t3t04e turbocharger
-custom 3" exhaust
-large FMIC
-MSnS fuel and spark control
-255lph walbro pump, 440c injectors, aeromotive FPR

in the end i want to do maybe 18# - 20# being max boost pressure, im hoping for around 300-350 HP i think it would satisfy my needs but they say boost is adictive...for my bodywork...im shaving the side markers, i wana put round turn signals in the airdam to accent the round headlights, rear deck i think is gonna stay as it is...the paint is going to be Charcoal Black, interior is going to be all black, rims..my sweet *** stock 14" 6 spokes oooh...yeah....

so if this is gone for a long time...

i can get this baby on the road...

this was when i got it....ugly...ugh...came a long way now...and i wanna keep going...

1981 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 [GL?]

www.dorifto-motorsports.00go.com/280/index.htm

That's my webpage with all my baby's pics. She's a little rough, but I'm working on her bit by bit. She was given to me by two of my brothers [the one that drove the car previously is signing over his Rx7 to me YAY!, and the one that actually owned her had a Turbo-ZX that was MINT! not to mention a nice-*** 280Z], so she holds sentimental value. The rust monster has given her some cancer [due in no small part to my older sister getting in an accident and not fixing it!], so a good portion of work is dedicated to structural reinforcement and rust fixing. After some dealings with Jason at ZSpec Garage, my Zed sled has taken priority over my Rx7 project. She'll soon be my track project, so look for my Zed at Miller Motorsports Park in 2006!

Projects done so far:
-Rust removal [extensive, not complete], and prime for paint
-Ignition work [been running on 3-5 cylinders for past 6 years!]
-Exhaust [partial, I have a race pipe, need complete exhaust with CC to pass]

Future plans include:
-2.5" streetable exhaust [as mentioned above]
-Suspension work [bushings, struts, springs, etc.]
-Body work [thanks to jfairladyz and ZSpec Garage, for future bodywork help!]
-Z24 / L20 / KA24 engine project [goal for 300-350hp boosted, no nitrous], possibly L28ETT [goal 350hp, no spray], or RB25DET [goal 400hp, no spray]
-Custom interior [black leather covered buckets and rear seats, black plush cut pile carpeting, nice *** stereo system, custom center console]
-Custom rollcage, and frame rail replacement [box/square tubing]
-Possible tube-frame front end, S13 front suspension assembly, S14 rear suspension subframe assembly, S14 5-lug conversion and big-brake kit
-Others, as my mind wanders.

I have an '83 280ZX 2+2.

I just recently finished my N/A egine project. I have an N47 head that was ported and polished. Put in an MSA Stage III cam with performance valve train (Schnieder) and had a 3-angle valve job. The head was decked slightly and the crank was polished and balanced. I put in flattop pistons for a CR of about 10:1. I also have an Centerforce DualFriction clutch and a CAI. I think thats all the engine stuff...

Just a few days ago I put in some black leather highback bucket seats which I love.

About a year ago I put in Tokico HP struts and lowering springs on all four corners.

I have ordered some drilled and slotted rotors and am awaiting their arrival.

The next big step for my ZX is that I am going to be converting it to carbs because EFI sucks. I am probably going to go with dual SUs. I will also get MSD Ignition, probably the 6AL, and a blaster coil with some low res wires.

Sometime in the future I am going to do the body work and probably keep the stock look with some minor differences like shaving the rear wiper and winsheild washer. The paint is going to be Nissan Silverstone Silver which is the same color as the dark silver 350Z.

Thats all I could think of off the top of my head. I might post more later.

I'm working on my truck currently. Hoping to finish bodywork and primer. Then change the exhaust (more ground clearance) and then lower it some more.
Possibly paint it.

My 280ZX also has some plans for this summer. 5-lug swap and upgrade to late Z31 brakes front and rear. New 5-lug wheels. New suspension components including bushings. New carpet, gauges, steering wheel, bodywork, and paint.

Well, I ordered my gauges! I'll try to install them right when they arrive since that is a one-evening job.

...hmmm, I wonder how much I can get at the aluminum recycling center for 15" Enkei 92's

The front will bolt right on. The rear will require 5-lug to 5-lug adaptors to space it out 30 to 32mm.

Hey Bleach ... you know there's a reason I was offered a job at Checker Auto this afternoon ... I'll give ya $150 for them, whenever you're willing to sell. And, if I can get work off soon enough in advance, I'll even drive up there to pick them up. Savvy?
