Jet Hot Fuel Rail?

I am in the process of rebuilding my intake manifold and I plan to get it coated with jet hot. Does it make sense to get the fuel rail coated also?

For looks? Sure.... it won't make any performance difference tho... and if ya count the 4oz of paint added... could technically be considered adding weight

Well I dont know actually. Cooler fuel will lower intake temps and would allow more power to be made. It wouldn't add any power on its own though. It would also add a little more security against detonation due to the lower temps. A hot fuel rail just brings the fuel permaturely closer to its flash point (not a good thing until the spark plug fires).

JetHot isn't the cheapest thing though so it would be a cost vs effectiveness issue. But if you figure it would look good on top of keeping the fuel cooler then it might be worth it. I'd be interested in seeing just how much cooler it would keep the fuel. If our intake manifolds werent right above the exhaust manifold then I'd say it was pointless though.

You saying the paint would actually keep the rail cooler in a hot engine bay? Maybe if there was a cross flow of air... but the way it's setup, I can't see how it would keep it cooler.

Maybe I'm not following here. But when I read JetHot I assumed he was talking about the header coating. Not a paint. The coating actually acts as a heat barrier so it would prevent heat from soaking into the fuel rail. If we're talking a paint then no, I see no advantage. But JetHot is not a paint.

I think he meant "paint" as in it's a liquid that's applied as a coating to something.
