interrior grommets

I recently aquired a 1980 280zx, the car is in great shape but the seat belts don't contract, I'm pretty sure I can manually reset the spring, but all the plastic grommets for the paneling are super dryed out and very brittle. I'm afraid if I remove the panelling I'll break every plasic piece holding it on.
Any tips? where can I get new ones?

Welcome to ZDriver!

You can get them from the same place you get all other Z parts...

www.thezstore.com

www.blackdragonauto.com

www.courtesyparts.com

or your local Nissan dealer.

alright so I looked into buying just the grommets but I could not so I went to removing the rear panel anyways and hoped I didn't destroy them... it was a success.

When I got the seat belt mechanism out I manually rewound it but whatever length I wind it to is where it sticks. the locking mechanism engauges and it wont let the belt unwind.

I oiled everything up last night with some all purpose marvel mystery oil and am hoping when I get home today the oil will have worked it's magic and the problem will be gone.

any suggestions?
