I could care less if the auto is faster. Really the only reason the auto is faster is because of the shift thrown in. With the manual you get the extra gears, the better ratios for acceleration, and not to mention overdrive on the highway. It sucks turning 3500+ RPM when doing 70mph. I manage to get about 21 close to 22mpg out of an auto at around 70. I have to wonder what I could pull out of a 5-speed. Oh and then you could always throw in a 3.7 rear.

I ordered another BOV from eBay. about $50. The last one I had worked great.
This one isn't listed as a Greddy, but the box shows a Greddy BOV clearly in the pictures and it says Greddy on the top of the BOV. The bar on the side is flat where a genuine Greddy would have their logo. hmmm....

And I got a steel mounting flange this time.

Update: really sad news. When I open the door with the lights on, I heard a bell ding. That means this car did not even come with the talking lady. poop

Purdy!

But are you sure no talking lady? I thought all 82-83 came w/ that option, and especially a turbo model. Did you check for the "black box" ?

talking ladys burnt out real easy, some one probally took it out and out a dinger box in there instead, cheaper, easier, less creepy.

yuck! i hate the type II BOV from greddy, just a DSM OEM knock off that sounds like crap. also they use greddy castings but inferior internal parts like the rubber seals and stuff for the e-gay BOV's. shoulda just bought used than knock off. oh well!

. . .Nice ZX Bleach. My 81 had the door bell and the talking lady and both worked. I hated the door bell so i disconnected it and just left the box. Though after the turbo swap she didnt talk anymore

bleach dont ya got to be driving over a speed for the lady to talk with the door open or the e-brake on? i spose you could leave the headlights on, and turn the key off, open the door, then she should talk.

$500 for the L28 engine
$400 for the Transmission only!

lol

good luck to the seller. I sold a running 280ZX turbo with T5 for $500. he wants $900 just for the drivetrain. In fact, there have recently been a few running and driving 280ZX turbos in Washington for $800-1000.

also, do I need a 'builder' ? This car is my project. I have a truck to drive daily.

i could see that being hella cheap, would be easy to start with a pair or scissors too, assuming it really starts

No mention of 280ZX or Datsun in the ad. No wonder I didnt' see it before.
i'm going to call on it tommorow, its only about 15 minutes away.
since its abondoned does any one know how to hot wire one of these or should i just use scissors?

i know the tumblers get old and you can get away with using a similar key but mines from a '79 and the side grooves are different

you are in Medford Oregon. That Z is in Granite Falls, WA, about 1.5 hours north of me. I would guess its more of a 8 hour drive for you.

I was going to say, my 83' Turbo will ding with the door open and key in and it has the talking lady. Well I actually have to push down a little on the key to get it to ding as the ignition barrel isn't set properly or something.
