My passenger side mirror has a chunk cracked out of the plastic surround but the mirror itself is in good condition. I found a mirror at the junkyard yesterday that has a perfect plastic shell with no innards. I cannot see how to get my mirror portion out of its surround to swap shells. Is there some kind of trick?

 

Theres a screw on the underside that holds everything in then I "think" theres one more under the base that mounts to the car but I can remember.

 

Keep me posted on this. Some schmuck took a chunk out of my passenger mirror... and it's powered, so I gotta get a replacement. Black Dragon doesn't carry a powered one. ...and I use the hell out of the mirror defog.

 

it is a seriouse pain in the *** to replace the glass. there should be like two screws holding the mirror to the armature, and one or two to the door then unplug the connector and its off you can try to coax the glass out but the glass pops in and out of the plastic holder( it is supposed to in theory)
