HELP !!! sensor prob I THINK ?

welp it always happends to me I put it up for sale and now when its cold out (here in WA st) it spits ans sputters.
first I thought it was the Mas sensor or the other one when it get wet it wont let ya go over 1500 rpm's but for some reason ITS NOT THAT.... crap I am at a lost

I thought it might have been a blowen head gasket but its good nothing wrong there.. oil is good and RAD fluid is good also.

it was running fast and at the top of its game now when I get it out its spittin an sputters all overe the place.
when it warms up and I turn it off and then back on its fine

any sugestions ??

(and BLEACH I am still interesed in the other nissan)

later and confused

Lots-o-threads on here about the same old cold start probs...

like these:

Check your CHTS, AFM, Air Regulator, Cold Start Valve (if non-turbo) and all their wiring connections.

Your first concern should be the connector at the Air Regulator on the intake manifold. If this is loose or corroded then the Air Regulator wont work properly. An improperly working Air Regulator will give you the spit and sputter while the engine is cold that smooths out to normal as the temps rise. The fact that the car responds to hot/cold condition of your engine tells me it's most likely not the cylinder head temp sensor (still a possibility though). If cleaning/checking the connector to the Air Regulator doesnt help then the unit itself may be bad. With the engine still cold, like before you start it in the morning remove the hoses to the air regulator and have a look inside the regulator. You should be able to see clear on through to the other side. If the passage is closed, or you can only see a crack of light, then the unit is bad. It should be open in that state. A bad air regulator will cause you to run too rich when the engine is cold because the ECU is dumping in way too much fuel and the air regulator isn't allowing the extra air in to compensate. Its a VERY common failure on the Z's and definitely worth investigating as a likely cause.

EDIT: And take blacks advice and invest in some dielectric grease to seal all those connectors. It's good insurance against future problems.
