Going to SUs!

Well I'm just going to drop the EFI for now and I'm wondering if anyone has anything to share about EFI to SUs swap. And if anyone knows a good affordable fuel pump that I can replace the EFI one with. Er and if anyone knows anything I should look out for. with this

Your car will run better with EFI and will be more economical on gas.
You will have to use a carb fuel pump, you will need the mani folds, the SUs, the lincage, the heat shield to conect the return springs etc etc. Do you have all the parts? if not e mail me I have everything. Mcamps228@aol.com

All I'm missing the the stuff for the choke. and an electric fuel pump. Which I actually have one but it doesnt fit the big like 1/2 inch line from the tank.

Er no wait I'm missing the air filter.

About the fuel pump if you have one all you need is to down size the hose. To rebuild the SUs is simple if you know how to work on cars. you can have partial rebuild Black dragon has them or a complete kit Z theraphy has it. get you a good book on SUs and go for it, is not that complicated. If you are an old guy like me, you have worked on carbs, so tuning them is no problem but if you are young get the Z theraphy DVD on how to do every thing.

Its easy, just get the rebuild kit from Z Therapy. It comes with everything(no other kit I have heard of does) and a video explaining how to rebuild and tune.

Their "Complete Tune Up Kit for 2 carbs"? I probably will get it just for the fact it has everything I need. The Checker kits only come with gaskets and the float needles I think.

Yup, correct. Most of the time its worn needles/seats that are the issue so the big box rebuild kit is pretty useless

This is a relatively straight forward swap, especially since the fuel injection harness is almost entirely seperate from the engine harness. Basically, just act like your putting a carbed v8 in it and you'll be fine.

Sweet. I actually started to consider Z Therapy's SS Reman Carb set. Hmm... I hope this comes out running pretty well!

the z therapy kit is the greatist, plus su's hold tune a bit better than webers. they can actually produce good power, and not have bad mileage. tonyd on hybridz loves his su's, i forget the power capabilities, but i was astonished, its comparable to tripples. if you run a good regulator with return system, you can actually leave the stock pump as is.

I **** brix today, today I took my entire engine down to the machinest to be cleaned up and get ready for a rebuild, I was talking to him for awhile and I decided to ask about if he knew where I could get an LD28 Crank, then he says that he might actually have one and if he does I can pretty much just have it! So I might start looking into a 3.1L engine!

I don't think my luck is that good tho lol But you never know!

I've got 4 of the 6 pistons you need for the 3.1L. They are from a 92 KA24DE. Unfortunately you'll prolly have to source another set of 4 just to get the 2 more you need.

You'll need custom pistons I'm pretty sure. it'd only be 2.9 without the 89mm bore...
