fuel injection spray pattern

I was having a real rich fuel situation, have done everything suggested and by the book. Still problems. It was suggested that I pull the whole injection system out and turn the motor over and look at the spray pattern of the injectors(cold start injector included). I have not seen the spray pattern before but to me it was not atomizing, more like a stream. So has anyone ever looked at this before, what does the pattern look like? no fuel out of the cold start either.

The cold start has a built in relay. I think it only cranks when the temp sensor says the engine is cold and then only sprays while cranking, not when the engine fires up.

I have never looked at the injectors spraying.

I am also running extremely rich, no cold start. but my temp gauge ain't workin. so i think the ecu thinks the engine is always cold. it fouls out one of the cylinders once the engine is warmed up

The temp gauge runs on a seperate sensor from the ECU IIRC....
