Dilemma(sp) need insight on this one.....
Ok i have an 83 280zxt 2+2 that i'm working on, right now it needs fuel lines, intercooler, piping, bov, fms, upgraded fuel pump, and fpr, and it will be running.
Here's my dilemma:
Just ran into a guy who is selling his 71 240z vinyl top, Car has around 80,000 miles on body, garage kept whole life, One owner, brand new brakes, rotors, drums, exhaust, transmission. rebuilt the engine with a new head. Some parts in the engine bay have not been put back on as he was in the middle of the project, He's knowledgeable enough it seems, as he lubes the engine up every week and cranks it by hand to assure it doesn't seize. hasn't been turned over yet since the rebuild. Virtually no rust on the car at all, had hole in floor pan but he already cut out and replaced that. He seems to know what he's doing and takes care of the car.
Now he only wants 1200 for it, do i jump on this car, or use the money for my 280zx?

no... very bad! You should give his info to me... I'll tell him to stop scamming people.
Yes it's good... but you mean "of the first 5000 of the 1971 model" right? Because the 240z started fall of 69... so that car is NOT 240Z #4024... if that's what you were thinking. It's the 4024th of the 2nd model year.

no vents, it was manufactured August of '71 title as a '71 snapped a couple pics of it, the condition is unreal, no rust on frame or doglegs or wheel wells, not even in the spare tire well, it has 88,000 original miles on the body, engine was rebuilt just cause, new lifters, brand new machined head, brand new trans. he's been turning it over manually with some trans fluid in it to keep it from seizing. I just can't believe the condition this car is in. the vinyl roof starts halfway back then runs down the hatch, no cracks in that or tears, all seems are tight. All i gotta do is bolt back on the valve cover, put in the radiator, hook up some hoses, throw on the belt, put the interior back in it, as he pulled it to fix a rust spot on the floorpan. the drain holes in the floor aren't even rusted i mean seriously...wow. diamond in the rough, i don't think this dude knows what he had. I paid for it and got the title, will be trailering it outta there sometime this week. gonna load some pics off my camera here in a second.
