Coil questions

Well I got a MSD blaster 2 coil today and I installed it and It was pretty noticeable difference but I remember hearing about that I have to take out some resistor when I put a high end coil in. Is this true? And where is it if so?

It depends... what do the instructions say? I have a Mallory 6AL & MSD Blaster II coil... no resistors (except for the tach).

Ah... nope. If it works good, and your tach still works... you did it right.

Yeah, you would think they would include the bracket/mount with the coil... I put some cardboard around mine for a while, then bought the stupid mount.

Don't you just line up the two dots and throw it in?

Set motor @ TDC, line up oil pump dots, shove in. The top should look like this:

You might hear people say "use a razor blade". I say, eff that... pneumatic surfacing kits FTW!

Sandblasting the motor doesn't seem like a good idea, with all those coolant and oil passages haha

unless you are talking about the timing cover

Lucky. My engine is 29 years old and from what I've been told has nearly "500,000 miles" on it. I would say blast it and make the whole thing nice and shiny, but I don't know how that would affect the sealing of the gasket...

BP, but what is that thing under the intake manifold by the TB? The boost controlled deceleration devise? If the name says what it means, what is the purpose of that? emissions?
