Well as fate would have it as soon as i get my turbo swap going, i find a incredible deal. Like a reaaaalllly good deal. So im at the shop, low and behold a 3000GT Twin Turbo is towed in. To make a long story short, the car is for sale, its been hit in the front and aint **** in the way of body work, and its only for 1500 bucks. This is for a low milage, twin turbo 3kgt here. Ive loved these cars for ever. Its clean. Like super super clean. What to do, what to do. I want it, but i also just started my Z project. But then again, its newer, faster, no swap required. . . nothing to worry about cept maintanence and some new wheels maybe. ****. What do you guys think?

EDIT- its a VR4 as well-all wheel drive

I got the same delema w/ my new 318ti... bought it for $2500 to fix & flip for an easy sell (at least $5.5k), but now that I've fixed it, I don't wanna sell it. I prolly will sell it tho, cuz cars are always coming & going. With the $$$ you make on that flip, you've got cash in hand for any other deal that might come up.

Heck I Bet You Could Swap The Power Plant And Then Sell The Car Shell For What You Paid For It In The First Place.

For that price there is no sense in not getting it. Fix it up and if you like it better then your Z then sell the Z. or the other way around. Either way you cant lose. Good luck with whatever you do

i hate the 3000gt, they suck to work on in the worst way, everything needs special small tools for little spaces. youll be unhappy when the first thing breaks, or needs replacement. stick with the z car, and flip the 3000gt (dodge stealth up here)

if theres anything i know thats useless... its mitsubishi's.... 3000gt VR4's are heavier than ppickup trucks... 4000lbs minimum.... they also have incredibly weak and HORRIBLE transmissions.. they are pretty much a **** car... if you do buy it... trust me... fix it.. and sell it... dont i repeat DO NOT keep it... its a hell hole... sell it to some rich kid that want turbo... if you make it purty and has no frame damage you can sell it for a clean 7k....

her her .. exactly they are a maintenance pain.. apart from trans problems, an cramped engine compartment, their rod bearings don't seem to hold out forever either ..
I agree and have driven one.. it is great looker ... and they are fairly 'fast' ( not as fast as a turbo z with goodies) if you have the time fix it and sell spend the money on a suspension brake etc set up and roll!

keep the 3000 and well be ready for going deep in the wallet when it breaks

Well ****. I dunno. I gotta get a good look under the car and get it on the frame machine to see if it needs to be straightened at all. thats going to be the deciding factor for me. I like the 3kgt VR4. A lot. I dunno, i guess you can say it was one of the dream cars for a lot of guys my age.

ick.....
its just.... to much bad to make it not worth it... better off with a TTZ32. lighter. much stronger tranny... probably the same difficulty to work on perhaps a bit easier... and is faster stock and Z32 can get more power easier.

Jake, check the frame and if it's good and you think you can find good replacement parts for cheap, then use it as a fix and flip!

Been there...done that!!! Bought a Dodge Stealth for my daughter in 2002 (she wanted an eclipse, but got the stealth). On her b-day she pretended to like the car but told me later it was a front, she was disappointed. But she grew to love the car and it was a 5-speed base model n/a. It would fly and was fun to drive. But my son was coming home from out of town and the power steering pump went out. He had to keep refilling the pump all the way home. I called a buddy that worked at the Dodge dealership and he told me the part was between 925 & 1200 (no, that is whole dollars, i did not leave out any decimals) based on which pump I needed, and that was in the box, not an installed price.
Long story short, i bought one from advance for like 120, and had to install 2 before i got one that would work.
It was a neat car to drive, fix it up, drive it some and sell it hopefully before anything breaks. and if it does dont get the parts from Dodge, go to the junkyard, where mine is now after the guy who bought it hit a deer.
