Calif. Smog Testing
At this point the age is 1973 and older do not have to smog test. It is believed that CA may enforce a 30 year old and older exemption. That would mean next year it starts at 1974 and older... but that remains to be seen.
do glasspacks make it queter or louder??
i went to a muffler shop and they cant sell me a muffler without looking at my car for some reason...morons....
i saw one cherrybomb glasspack but "cherrybomb" sounds like its gonna be loud.....and yes im still looking for a nice muffler...
the 2 1/4 pipe sounds way too loud by itself

I don't know if glasspacks would be louder or not. Back in the old days (yes, the 50's) we used glass packs because they allowed exhaust to pass straight through rather than through the maze designed into the stock mufflers of the times.
The glass packs were louder than the stockers, but the sound was mellow and the performance inprovement resulting from reduced back pressure was often quite noticible, especially when used with a true dual exhaust system rather than a single system with two tips exiting the muffler.
Dyno tests I've seen seem to indicate that today's engines perform better with some back pressure, perhaps to limit scavenging of the fuel/air mixture.

yeah i didnt want a fartpipe but yet i didnt wanna lose that engine sound
it says it brings out the engine sound while it keeps it quiet thats exactly what i want...
i dont know how will it go with the straight 2.5 (od) i dunno the inside diameter pipe :P
should be here in a few days....ill slap it on and check...
but remeber i have a straight pipe not a bend in it cept at the beggining and also no cat

one more thing how nice is MSA cuz well when i ordered the kit i said it was for the NA and thats the one with exhaust coming out to the right....but i did my exhaust to come out to the left...now they didnt ship it yet its gonna be at the end of the month when they have some in stock and then theyll ship it i was wondering if they gonna let me change that rear skirt to the left openin for exhasut...
you can call them to see if you can change it for the turbo model.. thats the one where it comes out on the lest side... i changed mine.. well i filled in the hole for the right side and made a smaller opening for the left side.. the opening i made for mine is a lot smaller then the one that it comes with i think it looks a lot cleaner then that big gaping hole that MSA has..
