Back in the saddle again.

Back in the saddle again.
After 16 years of living "Z-less", I finally have been blessed with another Z. 83NA with a digital dash that actually still works that I bought for $500. She is definitely a major project car (especially the interior), but I have the most important thing that a person can have to do a project such as this...a wife that seems more excited than me (if that's possible) about the car. I will post pics as I go along. I am actually going to use it as a partial daily driver while I work on it. First thing is that I am going to have to put a hood and LF Fender on her...which thanks to a parts car I am buying that is an exact match, will be fairly inexpensive ($300, and it has the body parts, and spare t-tops and digital dash will be nice to have). Anyway, this means I will be bugging a lot of you! Just be warned...
There will most likely be another Z here soon...my wife was wanting to fix the parts car for herself!

Accomplished one of the more important first items off my list today...got rid of those dang ugly louvers off the back! It's nice to be able to see out the rear window...
Sign of things to come...my wife has taken the car to pick our daughter up from school...I guess I will end up building her one after all, just so I can drive mine!

Well, here she is...not much to look at. My first goal is to get her mechanically sound before I start any work on the body or interior, with the exception of swapping the hood and LF fender from the parts car, and sanding down the rust spots, filling in the holes from the louvers, and spot spraying primer.

LOL...OK, the Z bug really hit the household hard. My wife is now the owner of a 72 240Z. Non-running, and a bit of sheet metal repair (mainly the left rear fender...bad cancer). Most of the car is in pretty good shape on the outside. Lot's of work, but she is really looking forward to it.

Walked away for $200...figured it's not a lot to loose. It's really odd about the rust...it's only on the drivers side rear. Checked the floorpans inside and outside...plus the whole undercarriage...and other than some superficial surface rust, it's good. Even the drip rails.
It's nice to have a spouse that is into the Z cars as much as I am...I consider myself extremely lucky.
