Arrow Anyone has one of these?

Well, I was hoping to have my engine back from the machine shop this week, but apparently they're having problems with one of the connecting rods.
It appears that the rod pin is not 'thick' enough for this connecting rod. It appears that this connecting rod has been modified or who knows what.

All the other connecting rods are fine, so I'm after a #3 connecting rod for my '82 280ZX engine.

MSA doesn't carry them anymore, apparently no one's making them no more. eBay is a no go and the only guy who may have one is Z Specialties. However, I don't really know if he'll be able to get one any time soon.

So, if anyone of you guys have a #3 connecting rod (that #3 shows on the outside of the rod - it appears that my '82 has a pair of 1, 2 and 3 connecting rods) let me know and we can do some business.

And the machine shop can't call around to find one? Have you checked Nissan?

Indeed holmes... if anyone is going to have the part, it would be Nissan. Call your local parts dealer, and also check out www.courtesyparts.com

I've found that AutoZone is phasing out parts for older cars. Believe it or not, try PepBoys. I've had more luck there than just about anywhere else.

If not, Checkers and NAPA are good too.

When all else fails, hit the pick'n'pull yards!

drive on up here to Washington. I'll sell you a 1983 turbo block complete for $75. You can have all the rods and pistons you want.

I think I'm going to get my connecting rods from here.

And as usual, the sunshine state...'shines' when it comes to finding parts for my 280ZX; I checked three authorized NISSAN dealers and they don't carry parts for it.

The guys from DatsunStore is a cool and helpful guy, so I highly recommend him if you guys can't find parts; I got my oversized pistons from him. Like many of you guys in here...he knows these cars inside out, his shop only does Z/ZX cars.
