Air/Fuel mixture gauge

Did anyone istall one in their car?

I wired mine to the Oxigen sensor right where the wire goes into the ECU.
THe problem is that the gauge reading is not stable. Under partial thottle, the gauge reads something reasonable (14.5 -15..etc) then jumps up to saturation (20) and then back to something reasonable. The gauge reading is usually stable at idle, and stable at WOT.

Is this what the sensor normally does? How crucial is the gauge wire having a shield. The EFI harness has the wire running in a shield, the gause wire is not shielded.

Are you using a wide band gauge? (sounds like it since it's giving you number readings). The stock O2 sensor isn't a wide band, thus, incompatible w/ a wide band gauge. If you are using a narrow band, I suggest checking your connection to the O2 sensor wire. And no, the lead to the gauge doesn't need to be shielded. The shield is to prevent radio interference.

Narrow band, but a digital gauge none the less. So yeah, it's compatible. I double checked before I bought it.

The shield it to prevent radio interference. Exactly! So doesn't it mean the wire that goes to the gauge needs it as well?
I will double check my connection, but I soldered the wires, so I doubt they are bad.

It's a narrow band that will display 20:1?

I have an AutoMeter one and it is always in motion unless the TPS is at WOT. I don't believe that a digital readout will update fast enough to give a true reading. I have the same problem with digital multimeters at work with some equipment.

you're wasting your money for a narrow band gauge, all it is, is a nice slow light show, if you're using it for its true purpose, ditch that piece of junk and get a wideband.
