Alas, it is not my L-series motor. This is the 91 octane tune on my RB car. Yes, I could go WAY bigger, but with 255/40/17's, there's just not enough rubber on the road to make any more power useful. If you look at the torque curve, I'm at 95% of max torque by 3600 rpm. A 2nd gear roll-on will rip the street tires off and it'll still get completely squirrelly in a 3rd gear roll-on. 1st gear is nearly useless as any application of boost will get you no where VERY fast and VERY smokey.

Remember, with full interior, roll bar, power seats, AC, power windows, power locks, huge brakes, 17" wheels/tires and a TON of dynomat, this car still weighs less than 2600 lbs.

I still can't get over how smooth that horse power curve is... ummm...

how much did you do to the rb to get that number. i was thinking in the race car id put an rb in it and go kill everything on the track. my goal would be like yours. the guys there say im nutz!!! btw im sticking with the L series for now to gain valueble experience with less power.

oh, I see. I saw you posted it in the 280ZX section so I figured it was the white ZX.

anyway, its a good build. Nice even power.
If only you had a 3.54 LSD... of course, even then you might have traction problems. Go make some crazy freeway racing videos now.. dont get killed though!

It's got an R200 w/3.7 R&P and CLSD and it's still totally unmanageable at low speeds. Might have to go to a 3.56...

On the way to the ALMS races at Laguna Seca on Saturday, I smoked a brand new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 on the 101 headed to Monterey...

I kinda thought the same as Bleach, but then again the 280ZX is like the section to post in. Wait...maybe LWW has a 280ZX with an RB in it that he isn't telling us about?

No, it's quite ok. We discussed this in the post ***** thread. It's 280ZXDriver.com now.
