I have an 82 280zx and the front turn signals arent working. The rears work fine but the fronts dont even come on at all when the signals are on. The bulbs are good because they come on when i turn the parking lights on. Could it be a flasher or a relay and if so which one?

 

#1... The rears shouldn't "work fine" if the fronts aren't flashing. The arrows on the dash (and the rear turns) should be lit up & not flashing when activated... which gives you the warning that one of the turn signal bulbs is burnt out.

#2... There are 2 filaments to each turn signal bulb, one for the parking lights, one for the turn signal... thus allowing it to stay lit while signaling. If they aren't flashing, the flash filament is burnt & the bulb needs to be replaced.

 

well the rear signals and dash lights flash when i turn on the signals but the fronts dont do anything

 

Is it a fast flash? Get out the voltmeter & check for power @ the front turn signals. If no power, it's wiring, relay or turn signal switch.

 

they signal normally but thanks for reminding me cuz i have the meter sittin in the backseat lol...and do you know where the flasher is located on these cars cuz i didnt see it under the dash on the drivers side but i may have overlooked it

 

It's up there a ways. Directly above the steering column held in by two colored (I think white & green) plastic half circle tabs.
