my name is shane and i recently bought an 1983 280zxt and when i bought it the previous owner said it was hydro locked. where would i get a key to unlock it? autozone nissan? thanks for the help

Welcome to boards. I don't know your level of mechanical skills, but guessing from your posts you're probably new with cars. Vapor lock isn't something you use a key for. It means the fuel is vaporizing in the fuel lines. It's a temporary problem usually associated with heat, and it shouldn't be happening since it's the winter months. Hydro locked motors aren't going to run. You gotta replace or rebuild the motor. Good luck with your Z.

Just use the ignition key. It should work.
Insert the key in the vapor lock key cylinder then repeat the following 3 times...
turn 1 revolution left, 2 right, 1 left, 2 right. That should unlock it.
After that is done, then check the v-tak module to make sure that it doesnt have a virus. Then go in a vacant parking lot, drive the car til you hit 88 mph, go back to before you were born and convince your mom not to have sex, and you will never be born. Therefore you will have no humanly way to post useless stuff on OUR interwebs and use our valuable bandwidth.

i knew it was a joke, seeing the Z and the 5.0 i knew not even you could be that ignorant as to ask that question, that OR it was a person already a member trying to be funny. im back now that you admitted it though.

thanks thats all i can do now because im broke but when i graduate ill be working as a tech at nissan so ill have money to work on it then i plan on upgrading the furl system and upping the boost

thats my brothers 5.0 that i built it has a 331 stroker with an e303 cam and soon it will be turbo
