I previously owned an 82 280ZX turbo automatic, yet a guy that I work with tells me that there was no such thing. Please tell me that they produced these cars and that it was not a tranny swap or a turbo added to it.

ZXTs with an a/t were produced, in fact the first turbo ZXs were a/t back in '81.

 

Yup, that guy has no idea what he's talking about. Next he'll tell you they never made a 280ZX 2+2 turbo.

Nissan also never made a 280ZX with an RB-series engine ... I'll fix that as well.

Actually, the 2+2 turbo was an option from the factory. With either 5-speed or auto. Only in 1982-83. 1981 you could only get the turbo with t-tops, 2-seater, and auto.
