'82 Stereo and antenna
#3
Well i found one in a junk yard, and it plays ok, but he display is gone out. I have tried to retouch the solder joints but it still won't display.
And for the antenna, it is the original eletcric, and i need the mast and nylon cord that drives it. I know my autozone and competition don't carry it, but i haven't checked with an audio store, but they likely won't either. Thanks for the info though.

Try the market place here...I found the stereo form here .
I have the same problem with the stereo, the LED does not light up but if I keep holding the power switch when I turn the stereo on the LED lights up. I went to old car radio repair shop here in SoCal and he told me that the switches on those radio go out a lot. Try that on your radio and see if that works, maybe its the switch that is not connecting properly?

On my 1970 electra Convt. Orig radio was shot so we put in a aftermarket in the glove box and left the orig as a dummy for car shows.. Just did a after market radio in my z and it seemed pretty open after you remove glove box and some plastic extend your wires buy the 6.00 antenna extension and there you go. I'm Taking it your doing this is for show? Cause really either way going to cost you a lot to fix yours to working contd. May just as well use that money for a good 200.00 alpine with the I pod and mp3.
