'79 dizzy for my '82?

Will a '79 distributor work in my '82 280zx? I thought maybe I could change out the ignition module. My '81 distributor looks the same inside. Just one less plug hookup on the module. If so I can get one from somebody. Just need to know if it will work. I don't have the cash to buy a new one. Any info would be great. Especially from you Bleach But anyone that knows please feel free. And help a guy get another Z on the road

It will work. Mines from a different model year with no problems.

I think the 83 dist. is the only one not compatible with the rest (internally anyways), but I could be wrong.

I think they're all the same. I'm actually running a distributor from an 84 Maxima. (L24) The extra plug might be an extra ground wire they added later just for better connection.

I have no spare distributors for sale...

WildmaN, Take the chance and pay the shipping. It's probably a good dizzy and it won't be that much to find out. Good luck!!

I;m looking for a severly warped head and two pistons with holes burnt through. And I realize this is a long shot, but you wouldn't happen to have a broken control arm would ya?
