79 280z door wiring

79 280z door wiring

Hi there! i got this 79 280z without power windows,locks, and mirror, but lots of damage on the doors, good news though! i have a pair of excellent doors that are power windows, locks, and mirror(s), question is, how do i wire it up? i figured someone might be able to help here! thanks!

Welcome to ZDriver!

If you want it to look / work like stock, you also need the body wiring harness w/ relays from a GLL (power-everything) model. Otherwise you will need to wire up your own power & relays.

i dont really care if it works like stock, i just want the locks and window to work, the mirror i could care less for

Im not sure if the 79 even had power locks, I would suggest getting power locks from blackdragon, it's only 90 dollars, and with that system, you can unlock the doors with a little clicker, the problem is because it's a universal kit you have to fabricate your own mounting for the motor and if you don't have it lined up perfectly then the locks are going to be hard to engage and disengage manually.

I'm pretty sure they didn't back then. I have a 1980 with power mirrors and windows - I think it was totally optioned out (sticker said $15,000+!!!)...but no power door locks.

My 79 has power everything, except door locks. I don't think it was an option
