280zx update

Yep, picked up an actual zx-r whale tail for 50$, now I gotta figure out how mount the damn thing, gonna have to fill the rear windshield wiper hole. also bought a 69k turbo parts car front clip for $175, got the engine with above 90% containment on all cyclinders, bumpers, hood vents, interior parts, the entire wiring harness and ecu, the crossmember and rack and pinion system, and some western cyclone II's. AND then I bought a T5 NWC
made some good deals in the last 2 months
swap will happen eventually but I have to go through the engine and replace all the gaskets and the rod bearings-just in case, would like to have a second car before I do the swap and make the zx a dedicated hillclimb/autox car

if you figure out how they did it from the factory you should make a post saying how, i have a zx-r wing too, but i have no idea how to mount it the right way.

well they used basically an aluminum interior snap pin with a o ring on the underside of the hatch (to prevent leakage-did not work on the ZX-R i got it from) and snapped it through the spoiler and the hatch from the underside of the hatch, if any of that made any sense lol

well actually riveted on-by the fact that I couldnt get one of the pins out at all
but yeah could be either. best bet is to send it to a body shop and have them put it on, or do it yourself with self tapping screws through the hatch into the spoiler or something -Id seal the spoiler to the hatch though if you can

heres what Im gonna do to mount, rivet nuts into the spoiler and drill out the hatch, use a circle of silicone or some rubber washers around each hole to seal from the rain. remove the spoiler once every six months or so to clean **** from underneath. profit.

sounds like a good plan, and i think i understood your first way of describing it, it kinda works like hood pins work right?

um, more like the little plastic snap pins for the hood weatherstripping seals (firewall seal, radiator support seal, front bumper-hood seal)-those pins except in aluminum. wasnt the best way of doing it but whatev
