280zx Stalls while driving
Hi guys,
My z starts and idle well. After driving the car and it warms up, it stalls while driving. When the car is warm, I rev the engine up and let go the pedal, the rpm drops real low that almost makes it stall. So far I replaced the cranckcase water temp, sensor and thermotimer sensor, fuel filter, sparkplugs, but not helping. I hope you guys can help me. Thanks.

What is CHTS? Do you think it is the fuel pressure regulator? I have no idea how to check the timing. I guess I need a timing gun? To be honest, I have very limit skill with cars. I am just trying to fix the simple things.

First thing to do is download the FSM: http://www.xenonzcar.com/s130/fsm.php
CHTS = Cylinder Head Temp Sensor. Located between spark plug 5 & 6 (80.5-83), or in the thermostat housing (pre-80).
Test fuel pressure with a T hooked into the line between the fuel filter and fuel injector rail. Running pressure should be 30-35psi and should not leak down when off.
Yes, checking timing requires a timing light (gun).

Thanks. I will check the fuel pressure. As far as CHTS, I believe that is the crankcase temp sensor which I did replace. It was running rich, rough and black smoke came out the exhaust. It solved the problem after I replaced that.
I was told that may be the ignition module?
