280zx Model Code Questions

As you know I am working on the S130 Registry gathering Vins and model Information. I have come across some items in the model codes that puzzle me. Here is a model code. I am interested in what the W and Y mean.

KHLS130JFVBC1WY

This is what I know

K = T-top
H = L28 motor
L = Left Hand Drive
S130 = Duh
J = Grand Luxury trim
F = 5 Speed Manual
V = California Emissions
B = Power Steering
C1 = Automatic Climate Control

W = No clue
Y = Thinking Leather Seating

How come mine is totally different from the usual vin number.

Min starts with an HGS....

Is it because mine is a japanese spec?

Yep, HGS130 is the RHD Models

Um Sorry Wrong.

The Code I listed is a Model Code not a Vin Code.

Pre 1981 Vin numbers were not standardized.

Ok sorry my bad HS130 is the RHD HGS130 is the RHD 2+2
I knew something seemed fishy But I was used to the G there sense I have a 2+2

Other country vins go like so

Oh as for your 2 vin codes, Are they noticeable on the Black Pearl and ZX-R models?

The Black Pearl wasn't a S130....

And the 81's had both the 13 digit vin and the 17 digit one...

I thought he was talking abut all the early Z vins and not just the S130s...

mines a 79, i dont have leather and i dont think mine has those last 2 odd ball digits, i can check.

edit:

oops i thought it was on the window sticker but it has the serial number i'll get the vin/model number tommorow evening
