280zx diff swap question
let me start by saying i have an 82 auto turbo(fresh motor rebuild) and a 80 NA 5 speed (completely rust free)
so heres where im at i dropped the whole rear end out of my 82 turbo cuz i wanted the diff and trail arms out of it plus had the shafts are rebuilt.
well any ways i notices that the flange is not the same on the diffs..
i found some info but they deal more with the older z's i just want some strait zx to zx info..
82 turbo R200diff and the 80 has the smaller R180 diff
can i just swap the diff flanges? do i need a different drive shaft? will the bolt holes still line up?
what can be done to fix this?
any help welcome
i have no problem modifying a shaft if i cant swap the diff flange just need to what options i have .
cant test fit cuz im not taking my 80 apart till i have everything ready for swap so i dont know if they're compatable
thanks..

Yes. Just remember that the auto, n/a 5spd, and BW T5 all use different driveshaft output splines.
Depends on which transmission you use. If you are using the n/a 5 speed, you'll need the n/a driveshaft.
Use the tranny driveshaft, and accompanying diff coupler.
2seaters are the same length as each other, 2+2's are the same length as each other.
No.
When I swapped in my L28ET into my 81 n/a 5speed, I used the n/a driveshaft. When I swapped to the BW T5, I had to take my 2seater turbo driveshaft to Six States Driveline and have them lengthen & balance it for $100. Then I swapped in an 87 Z31T LSD 3.7 diff, and had to swap the 280zx turbo diff coupler over to the new diff as well.
