Unhappy By By 280zx

Well it is done...I have sold my last 280zx, my 1979 coupe. She is off to bigger and better things. She will first be going to a body shop where she will receive a ZXR paint scheme. The person who bought it works for Paramount pictures and he is quite the Nissan fan. Who knows...it may end up in a movie.

Some of you are probably wondering why I would sell it, well I sold alot of black interior panels last October and I have not been able to ship them. I don't like screwing people over and even though I got some help from a person on this forum I was still unable to ship the parts. He knows who he is and I am still very thankful to him. So what I did was list my ZX on the local Craigslist at 2am and within an hour I got an email for the listing. He gave me a down payment which was enough to ship the parts finally to the guy from Hybrid Z's.

With the rest of the money I will be getting my DL back and I will be bringing the Kawasaki LTD 440 home. The LTD 440 will be my main mode of transportation for a long time. If and when the price of gas comes back down to a reasonable price per gallon I will begin the search for another ZX...a Turbo, only this time in better shape than the one I had.

Well, that is where I am at right at the moment...Zless........for now. Just thought I would let everyone know. Oh yeah...I was going through the shed and I still have some parts from my Turbo...the T-Tops with bags, AFM, and a few small items...they are for sell if anyone is interested. Just send me a P.M.

The Greyhound thing was a no go...couldn't match a greyhound time with his time and everything was a big pain. I shipped fedex for around $130 but it was worth it to not screw him over. I am not going to leave this site though...who knows when I have the money, someone on here may have a deal for me.

I'd offer you my ZX, but it's retired to parts car status and half the **** in it is missing.

Maybe you need a break man, these things are moneypits. Get your stuff together and then get a good one.

Yeah, I think this LTD 440 is going to take up most of my time for a while...after all it will be my only means to get around. Who knows...maybe the next one will be a 240

Well Nismo...I got the 440 home and I have already made some progress. I have installed two new NGK plugs and a battery. I finally got to test it to make sure it still turns over and all the lights work and the engine spun when I cranked it. She didn't start but I new it wouldn't, the gas is 2 years old. I found an oil leak and fixed it now there is a major gas leak near the carbs. Gonna take the tank off and fix all that junk. I ordered new hand grips and I still have to work on the front brake and throttle cables...they is locked up like Michael Vic!! Anyway, here is a pic of the bike guys...should hold me over till I can afford another Z.

Thanks man, this bike depending on tune and how you ride it is supposed to get between 55-60mpg. 40hp and 26lb-tq. 6 speed gearbox and a second seat for da ladies!! The price for 87 octane here is $3.51 and rising.

Did you notice that gas steadily rose as the time got nearer for the Stimulus checks to start going out...tell me it's not about money for the government.

That sucks man...too bad you had to sell the Z. If my friend does not follow through with my '83. I may put another engine in it..Clean it up...to be daily driver status..and maybe a little more..And then either sell it..or fix it up more..and keep it. Not sure yet...but yeah concentrate on your bike. And when you get financially stable. You will find another Z...to be proud of..Keep your head up man. You Rock in my book too bro'!

Thanks man...I will get another Z...I know that the weather isn't always going to be good to ride the bike in so I will need a roof at some point. Something small...with two seats...rear wheel drive...hopefully a 240 but I will be happy with another ZX if it is a turbo.
