If you get a 90+ (Maintenance can be expensive) especially if you get a Turbo one.

The 80's 300ZX are cool and not as exspensive to maintain however some parts are not readily available for it.

Well, the older 240-280Z's are more prone to rust than the other models, the 280ZX is prone to rust in the rear wheel well and hatch area from my experience. The 280ZX turbos are not too bad acceleration wise, bone stock my ZXT went 15.3@89. (this is with an a/t) I think the non turbo 90's 300ZX's are in the same range, but with a turbo you get more bang per buck on modifications.

I've owned a z-31T and I still have a '83ZX n/a. I love(d) them both but the z-31 was a money pit and I had to sell it (even though it was a 50th anniversary eddition...). I love the '83ZX because it's MUCH easier to work on and even though the parts might not be to easy to come by, the satisfaction I get out of doing the work myself is priceless.
