Hello evey body again ... I wanted to know is any body with a 1981 -1983 280zxt ever raced a GSR integra ? Last night i was cruseing the free way hear in town 45mph when a white modafied integra pulled up next to me and reved up his engine.. i rolled down my window and yelled... u wanna roll ? he knoded his head and i told him GO ! i gave him a cars length ahead of me i down shifted to second , from 45 to about 60 then i shifted to thrid gear i was right on his bumper running 6psi of boost so i punched it and boosted to 12 psi or a little more by the time i got to 5,700 rpm i was already a car lenth ahead of him and was pushing 85 mph... the kid pulled up next to me and wanted to stop and see what i had underneth the hood.. so about 5 miles down the road we pulled over and we both opened out car hoods.. He had a very nice modafied stock GSR integra.. vavles cams lightend fly wheel stage 2 clutch slim line 7lb raceing wheels ... etc.. i opend my hood and when he saw my engine bay he was inpressed with the polised work i did so i showed him all the work i did and i told him he pretty much got beat by a stock 1982 280zx turbo.. he got kinda pissed off... then i put him in his place and i asked him if this time if he wanted to race for money.. and he still thought he could win me... so we got back onto the free way and lined up.. i lined up in the incoming lane there was no cars on the road at the time.. so we lined up and once again i gave him a car lenths ahead.. and this time i said GO ! i heard him rev up to about 6,000 rpm and he smoked his tires.. i reved up to about 3,400 rpm to get enough rpm power to get the car to launch but not smoke the tires i felt the car pull super hard in first to 5,900 rpm shifted to second when i shifted to second i could see him one car lenth ahead of me by the time i got to thrid gear i was caught up to him.. when i shifted to fourth i was 2 car lenths ahead of him and winning ... i was boosting 12 or 10 psi. ii was well above the 85 mph mark... by the time i got to 5th gear i could barley see him in my rear veiw mirror i then smiled with a huge grin... i slowend down the car after i got to 5th and 5,500 rpm i could extamate i was going about 145 mph. i slowed down and waited for the kid to show up.. when he did he said wow your car really beat me.. i looked at the kid and told him... your gsr just gopt beat by a " CLASSIC " datsun s130 he said .. " whats a s130 " and so we sat there and talked about 280zx's etc.. i layedd down all the information that i knew and i have learned for the past 5 years.. the kid was so impressed that he plans on buying one.. eather way i asked nicley for the money i won and he forked over the 100 dollar bill.. i told him thanks and nice run maybe we can do it again another time and he said " no i dont think so " ... as i drove away i reved up to about 5,000 rpm just enough so he could hear my BOV psssssssssssh another " WIN " for the S130s !

LOL thanks for the PROPS ! yea i was pretty happy with my car there is a little black book inside the glove department in my 82 280zxt that has all the cars i raced won.. and even lost how fast we were going what mods etc..how much money i won or lost.. nismopick... from your mind of wonderful thought.. what type of cars have u raced ? an won ? or what type of cars would yall like to see race a 280zxt ? just wondering..

p.s. i just want to let every one know that i love my 280zx's im learning more about them every day i help teach the young kids in this town.. and im slowly going to build up a 280zx army ! in this town.. i guess im gonna make my own 280zx club hear.. im currently looking for more donor cars and parts cars ...

 

You shouldn't do that bro, then there will be no spare parts, for the broken z's we all have. Anyways, try and race a 3000, those are damn fast, dodge stealth, or a new mustang. I'm aiming for the new challenger. Gotta beat the older brother.

This kid had some wild Mustang 289 that he thought was the shiznit. From a 10 roll smoked him, but from a dead stop I couldn't quite catch him. Thus the reason "street racing is a crock." I'm sure if we lined up 4 or 5 times, then we'd see who's got the faster car.

When I was at the track this summer, I raced an SRT-4 & won by a fraction of a second... I was 14.4 @ 98... he was 14.6 or so.

Oh... and to humble my ***: I rolled up next to this absolutely riced out Integ on my way to class one day. Spool'd to let the punk know I'm there, and he took off from a 40 roll.... I never came close to catching him till he let off.... I pass him & see a HUGE *** intercooler chopped into the bumper.

 

my freind seth has a TT 3000 gt.. there is a white dodge stealth TT that a hot chick drives i always drive by her and u know me i try to blow her a kiss but she smiles and drives on... i have alreayd raced the new 2005 2006 v-6 mustangs all were automatics.. there is a punk kid with a 2004 mustang mach 1 5 speed that wants to race me... but as i figured i would be able to keep up with him.. from 0-60 mph but his HP rateing over 60 mph he will beat me by about 2 car lenths... but then again i havent gaven it a really good try yet .. i wish some on on zdriver.com had a spare z-31 ecu spare z-31 distrubtor and mass air flow sensor ./... NISMOPICK... share the wealth ill buy it from u man ! hook me up with some knowldege !

Damn nismopick.. u make me feel humble ! at one point and time i thought my 280zx n/a/ 2 seater was the da bomb i was on the air force freeway going 75mph when low and behold i saw something grey and exotic.. it was a dodge viper gts.. going 75 mph i was like holy **** hears my chance to show up adodge viper.. in a stock 280zx n/a/ this was 4 years ago.. by the way i drove aside the old guy and reved up and got ahead of him.. them all i heard was this loud monster thunder then i saw his car BOOOOM ! right past me i tried to catch up to him but no matter what power my little 82 n/a/ had all i could see was that viper way far ahead of me.. about 10 mins later i saw him in town and he rolled down his window and said.. u have a nice little car there... and i looked at him and said.. i knew i shouldnt of.... he said it was ok and he was a retired police cheif...

 

Yeah i'll have to wait on that vid, nismopick, damn school computer has the site blocked. Yeah share the wealth, we all need the z31 setup. Is there any z31's down in SLC i want that front end conversion. My z just won't stop

Good looking turbo. Kinda "iffy" tho. Could be a knock-off, damaged, or a defect. The seller doesn't have great feedback & has set it to private so you can't see why.

A turbocharger is one thing I won't buy on ebay. I have two local turbo shops that I deal with for turbocharger units and upgrades. Plus they have warranties. Contact a local turbo shop in your area & talk to them about upgrading your turbo, or buying a new unit.

 

wow haven't been on here long and have 200 posts, crazy, how time flies when your having fun. How much is it to rebuild a turbo,upgrades or a t3/04

 

I paid about $350 for my T3/T4 hybrid upgrade. It was $200 for the rebuild (labor) and about $150 in parts.

 

Thats cool, they still use the t3 shell and upgrade the internals, or what. and how long did it take.

 

Exhaust side is the same, but the compressor side is changed out for a larger housing & compressor wheel.

Hey Nismo619, If your running the stock fuel system how are you running 12psi? I might soud like a wimp but I wouldnt go above 10psi. But thats just me..

well iveh eard it many times before the main reason why my stock t-3 turbo is leaking is because a while back ------- i was out racing and i was useing a boost controller that sl.30 sent me ... anyways i wasnt paying attetion and i saw the boost gauge read 20 psi... i couldnt belive it so i slowed down... when i got home i took off the j pipe and saw motor oil inside the j pipe.. i was like damit ! but never fear i have tooken off 2 spare t-3 turbos off the junk yards hear in town all from 280zxt automatics thou so i know they werent pushed hard at all. oneof the turbos was kinda already leaking so i took it apone myself to take that one apart and learn how to rebuild the turbos myself.. so far i have done a awsome job ! anyways i will keep yall in formed by the way 6 to 7 psi is stock pressure 10 psi is safe 11- 14 with a intercooler is great.
