So I just picked up a 1981 Turbo coupe in Ft Worth last week my 1st turbo out of 5 Z's .The only lights that will work are the headlights and brake lites. They all did come on the first nite for a little while then nothing again last nite but headlites & brake lites only..WEIRD combo.. any suggestions on what to check ? the fuses look good.THANKS in advance.

 

Check your hazard switch, I had to dismantle and clean mine.

 

check the multifunction switch (stalk). there is a six wire connector there that connects the running lights to power. I found mine had a burnt connector probably a common problem. check the switch itself many have reported problems with that. search on that i think there is a write up someplace on refurbing it.

Where is the MF switch located Rodger..? I dont have a service manual for this car yet I just got it 3 days ago..I have had 5 std 280zx's but this is my 1st Turbo car.. cant recall messing with a MF switch..guess I been lucky my probs were always engine related in my past Z's Think I'm in for a learning curve here..Thanks
