1981 280zx Fan Belt?

Just started happening, it sounds like the fan belt but I'm not sure. Screeching sound coming from the engine. Does not happen at idle only when pressing gas pedal.

Thanks

If it's just the typical belt sound, check the tightness of it. It could also be the pulley bearings as that has happened to me before.

I can't remember if it was someone on here or not, but someone once said that you can lightly rub dish soap on your belt if it just won't stop squealing even after tightening it. Tho... if the belt is still squealing at proper tension, something else is probably wrong.

might also want to look at your alt. belt to, as those are usually the culprit for screeching belt problems. (around here anyway.)
