you megasquirters need some help with just a few things

ok so i've figured out pretty much most of the wiring. i have an 82 280zx with an 83 turbo motor. the guy who owned it before me did a shitty swap keeping the distributor, ecu, afm, and fuel pump na so i found a guy selling a 82-83 turbo distributor with oil pump shaft and bought that and im in the middle of doing a full overhaul with the motor from new bottom end as well as new top end and all accessories. Im going to be getting the msII 3.0 with relay board. So with that info heres my main questions:

1) Can i get rid of these inline fuses and relays completely?

2) Do i need the ign. module since the megasquirt has built in ignition stuff??

3) The car never had a boost sensor and ran fine does it need it?

4) How do i wire up a wideband and o2 system to the relay board or ecu?

5) How do i wire up the sensors like for the CLT and IAT and the stock temp. sensor and all that fun stuff?????? thats all im really stumped on so any help would be awesome thanks!!

i've been on the megatune forums and other forums searching for a while and cant find a place that tells me exactly how to do the sensors and stuff so i figured i could come on here with people that have actually done this and would be helpful thanks!

#1 & #2: Leave everything that was not attached directly to the stock efi harness.

#3: The need for a boost sensor depends on your Megasquirt setup... does your MSnS require one?

#4 & #5: Again, it depends on your setup... if you bought the entire kit, it should be pre-wired no? I believe you need to get your own IAT sensor, as the stock one is inside the AFM. I know some people sell the basic GM style on ebay for the MSnS kits for $30-$40 when you can junk yard them for "free-ninty-nine". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsu...item35a6e87b63

scooby check my answer on hybridz as for the wiring removal. the ignition is triggered by the dizzy and if you have a bip373 mod on your ms board, you can directly power a coil from pin 36, or the thin white wire of a msd6a box. as for wiring there is a great diagram if you read all the stickies in the megasquirt section of hybridz. each wire off the db37 connector should be labeled as to where it goes. you canbuy this connector from diyauto if you dont have it. diy also has forums pertaining to ms and has great instructions for a turbo car.

well the inline fuses had 2 wires hooked up to the stock harness that ran across the top of the bay over to that side im not sure if this wire actually went to he ecu or not. but as for the iat sensor where do people usually put it since they have to buy a different style?? and ill have to call megasquirt and ask them about the boost sensor thing.

shady ill go check the answer on hybrid and is the bip373 i have to buy separate and have put in?? that would be easier since i will be staying with the same style coil as stock. and ill look more on the ms forum that i registered for its just some stuff im not clear about on there but thanks for the help

in your thread you made. i think its in the l6 section or something. what version of ms are you going to run??? the iat goes into the cold start valve location, just tap it out with a 3/8 npt. across the firewall there is a 2 wires for power, a set of 6 wires for a relay and another 3 for another plug. they all go. unplug your stock ecu, then take the grommit out of the hole and push it back thru the firewall in tthe engine bay, remove everything attached.

ok so the inline fuses should come out with the stock harness? and im going to be running the MSII v3.0 with im guessing the bip373 to run direct power off the coil. also getting the relay board. ugh im so confused on what to get rid of lol sorry. this is my first build ever ive always been the paint body guy with my subaru and friends cars and ive always wanted to do something like this and ive been researching for a long time i just keep hearing and seeing different things and wish i could meet someone and talk to someone with the megasquirt system really detailed. i know how it works for the most part just getting rid of the unneeded stuff and still having the car function lol

im not using the relay board, thats more of a ms1 thing i think. if you read hybridz stickies in the megasquirt section its almost step by step. besides that, the diagram tells you most things. i may do a writeup for this site. i might as well being im the how-to mod. lol we need more aftermarket ecu stuff on here anyhow

Im doing the relay board for simplicity and to clean up the bay and car as much as possible. Plus it seems so much easier to work on with the relay board but ive looked at the step by step install megasquirt stuff here and on the msefi forum and nothing tells me about removing or not the inline fuses :/ i mean if i have to keep them ill stuff them back in the fender but the 2 wires that came across the bay from the engine harness was cut off them.
