Which works better?

Got an oil cooler question for other guys running the L28ET. Here's the question....Which cools the oil better, the stock type air cooled or the Maxima diesel setup which is water cooled?
I have a Maxima cooler, and was thinking about slapping it in cuz my stock oil lines are junk and was thinking about saving some space and money buy putting on the Maxima diesel cooler. All the turbo charged Audi and Volkswagens I work on us the water cooled version. I was just wondering which would drop more heat. I assume the air cooled would due to the larger difference in temperature across the fins.....90* air vs. 190* water and I don't have to worry about water contamination in my oil either.
