what's needed for turbo 280ZX?
i hav a 280ZX n/a...i wanna go turbo. i hav heard statements about just buying the turbo motor & install it. but if the CR is 8.X:1 & the ZXturbo is 7.X:1, modern engines use 8.X:1 for turbos...why can't i use my orig. motor & put a turbo header, custom FMIC & rebuild the fuel system + turbo ECU?
Honda guys do it?

Those turbo Honda engines don't last 100,000 miles.
The low compression is used for reliability. The turbo pistons have thick rings in them made to take the extra compression of forced induction. Your n/a engine will not last very long under high boost as it is, especially if you are doing this to an old engine. You probably don't plan to rebuild the engine as you're already cutting corners.

I think that is an excellent idea. You can do some inexpensive modifications to your n/a engine and get a bit more power from it. Just have fun with the car and slowly build a true turbo engine in your garage over the next few years.

i've read you can't find lifters for p90a...
i've been looking because i want to build my engine in my parts car for my coupe, so if you kill a p90a head there's no bringing it back...right?
i got really lucky when i looked in my parts car because it has a p90 on it! it an 82 2+2 and i guess they put them on na cars too!
