Those turbo Honda engines don't last 100,000 miles.

The low compression is used for reliability. The turbo pistons have thick rings in them made to take the extra compression of forced induction. Your n/a engine will not last very long under high boost as it is, especially if you are doing this to an old engine. You probably don't plan to rebuild the engine as you're already cutting corners.

I think that is an excellent idea. You can do some inexpensive modifications to your n/a engine and get a bit more power from it. Just have fun with the car and slowly build a true turbo engine in your garage over the next few years.
