Voice warning......

Hi guys i'm new to this site but have owned several z's in the past.I have a problem with my latest 1982 280zxt and the problem is the voice warning that says fuel level is low comes on every time i start the car.Does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this problem or has anyone experienced this with their zxt?All the other warnings work correctly and this is driving me crazy.

replace the record player box in the back. Keep an eye out for a used one in a wrecking yard or eBay.

And what does your fuel gauge show?

I have filled the tank several times and the gauge works fine.At this tme i have about 3/4 of a tank.I was thinking that there would be a way to reset the relay or contact that signals the fuel tank low warning. It worked fine for about but the car sat for about a month and a half then it started to do the "FUEL LEVEL IS LOW" warning at each start up.I have disconnected the battery thinking that this would reset it by de-energizing the relay but that didn't work.I guess i'll have to go in a little deeper or just disable it.

I had the same issue and was considering replacing the fuel tank sender unit.

At one point I came across a spare black box for the warning system and swapped that out. The problem went away.
