valve question

New to site. I recently purchased a 1982 280zx with manual and turbo for $750. It had a bad exhaust manifold leak, so I removed the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold. I found holes in the hose from the engine block to the intake manifold. The engine has 235000 miles and there is some drive train noise but it was actually running pretty good. So I decided to pull the head and have it reworked prior to installing intercooler, T3/T40E turbo, bigger injectors, fuel pump, fuel reg, JWT ecu. Noticed a big difference in the color of the exhaust valve for cylender 1. Wondering if this is because of the exhaust leak or if there is something else going on. Also discovered tht there was no thermostat installed? When I removed the head I took the oil cooler bracket off the front passenger side of the head seems strange that this bracke is all that covers a hold in the head. Attached a few pictures. Thanks

In my opinion, the first pic tells me that all that oil is from a bad seal. I`m sure that spark plug was full of oil . Try replace with FORD VITON SEALS.

Thanks!
I'll make sure I get new seals when they rework the head.
