Turbo Injectors/need Help
Turbo Injectors/need Help
I finally got my new turbo injectors in. but i forgot, do i need the turbo fuel pump now? Are they the same or not? What happened is i started it up and it worked pretty well at idle till i tryed to rev it up then it cuts out.

Pull a spark plug & look @ the tip.
The injectors are too large for your application. You might be able to get your Z to run right by tweaking the afm, but otherwise you need to get a set of naturally aspirated fuel injectors. A brand new filter doesn't clog unless you got a metric ton of debris in the gas tank...
Dude, a half dozen people here have told you not to use turbo injectors on your NA motor. Adding more spark will NOT make your overly rich motor run better. Spark doesn't add air intake volume and neither does a cold air intake or a 2.5" exhaust. The only way to get more intake volume into your Z is to do head work, upgrade the cam shaft or bore/stroke your block. Even then, your intake manifold will be the limiting factor on a fuel injected L6.
Short of that, the best way to get the most performance out of your car is to make sure it's running in absolutely perfect condition. Clean every electrical connection from the ECU to the front of the car to make sure you have no "extra" resistance in the system and replace every vacuum hose to make sure you have no vacuum leaks.
I know it's not very "cool" and you can't really brag about it to your firends, but at that point, you'll be able to outrun nearly every Honda you come across.
If you still want more, then follow the first gen 300ZX (Z31) ECU/MAF swap instructions which will give you much more accurate air/fuel management making the car run even more efficiently. I'm not sure how much more power you'll get out of it, but you'll definitely get better gas mileage and your motor will run even smoother than with the 280ZX ECU. Oh, and you STILL DON'T NEED TURBO FUEL INJECTORS...

I've been in auto part sales over 8 years and I've seen less then 2% of new fuel filters that are bad (low or no flow). I saw a new filter that was on a car for less than a day and it was plugged up. So yes the fuel filter could be bad... as for the fuel pump, go to http://www.partsamerica.com/default.aspx and put you car info in and see if it works on both...
i ROFL'ed like literally, it was just a huge "WE TOLD YOU SO" screaming in my head. and then he tries to say its not the reason why.... you have injectors flowing 25% more fuel than the stock ones with no other real upgrades than spark maybe intake exhaust? its not going to fix your A/F ratio. we welcome you as a member. we arent trying to scare you off with our some what teasing posts now. but tis pretty ironic and you just need to get stock non turbo injectors.
ya i know but it runs and not bad its just gettin more food then it should haha. Im going to tweak the afm maybe. But i really want to cam it with like a stageII or stage III cam and port match the intake manifold to the head when i get the 240sx throttle body. It will run great then with the injectors i dont care wat u say then. haha. i just need like 1 more weeks pay to get it all done up.

Is there something im missing here?!?
hehe ya. Im crazy! But isnt like my 1,500 that i'll have all saved up by next week wont get me the ld28 crank and wat not . that's why i bought injectors in the first place cause im itching to kno how it will run with it being stroked and turbo'd
Logically if you want to know how a stroked turboed engine will run with turbo injectors, then put them in a stroked turboed engine. What are you learning about how a stroked turbo engine runs w/ turbo injectors if you put them in a stock n/a engine????

If n/a performance is what you want for the time being, follow Shady280's build as his n/a machine runs great, I've seen it first hand.

I'm sure it's running too rich, not too lean. Pull a spark plug & look @ the tip.
