I have heard that lots of people use that exact size of turbo for the L28T and they love it. There is a bit more lag, but not lots of lag. The boost levels, however, are tremendously higher. You can't do much with the stock turbo. 12psi so about 240-250hp max with a well worked engine.

there is alot more to just a t3/t4 turbo. u need to get the right exhuast houings and ar sizes depending on your application.thinking of the 3.1 stroker? so you should have all the little things down? like intercooler, tb and all the other goodies?

Lag should be virtually non existent, considering that a T3/4 hybrid of some sort is the turbo of choise for most streatable 4 bangers with less than 2L of displacement. And if you spend the extra money for a equal length turbo header and a nice mandrel bent exhaust then you should be just fine.

I'm using a Turbonetics t3/t04b turbo and it runs great. Lag isn't bad at all. Boost starts at about 2300rpms and max boost hits at 2800-3100 depending on what boost level I'm using. Anyway, just thought I'd chime in.
