superchargers
superchargers
I have an '83 280ZX GL (n/a). I love the turbo, but I don't want to go through the hassle of "decompresing" my motor or doing an engine swap. Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes superchargers for an L28? Also...Who has the most reliable product?
Jim Cook Racing makes a supercharger kit, but I wouldn't say it's cheap. If you run a search in google for them, you'll get their site. It actually might be more cost effective to go turbo though since you can't do much about boost on a supercharger except change a pulley and that's it.

check this
you should check out PROCHARGER at http://www.procharger.com/superchargers.shtml
I was thinking of putting it where the A/C compresser is.

I would go with a turbo. There are more people who have done it so there's less opportunity for you to encounter a problem that hasn't already been solved by someone before you.
Turbo is ultimately more efficient than a supercharger which has all the same drawbacks related to over-heating the intake charge as well as the same compression restrictions that a turbo setup would have so supercharging doesn't gain any advantage there either.
If you're looking to travel the less trodden path with an option that'll end up with less potential, then the supercharger is fine.
