starting and running problems on new to me 1983 280zx

This 280zx is new to me, but has been running for the last 400 miles without too much issue. Driving it this morning have me some issues, the car kind of lost full power on the road. I was low on gas, but not empty. It had been sitting for a while prior to me getting for the original owner. I put about 5 gallons in it after pulling over to the side street.

Now when I turn it over, it doesn't always start. When I am able to get it to catch the rpms are very low and running rough. If I hit the gas, the car rpm will rise, but when it returns after lifting the pedal the engine stops.

Could this be low/bad fuel? Valve timing or timing cha

in issue??

I'm surprised the temperature sensor was giving off those symptoms. Do you happen to know how a temperature sensor stalls it out?

yeah it was the cylinder head temp sensor or something like that. long time since i looked at it, but it adjusts the fuel etc and it was messing up the fuel-air timing etc. Replaced all the bosch connections and no repeat issues since.
