Dude! If a Delorean pulled up next to me and wanted to race I would go crazy. That would be awesome to go agaist a Delorean just to say you did it. It would be even better to win!

my dad had a delorean.. damn that car was ultra sweet.... but they dont accelerate all that fast really.. they weigh 2 tons cuz its all stainless steal.. they got a powerful motor but they need it to push that heavy son of a gun but they can go fast.. its like a tank when moving... and they can go fast but acceleration.. the Z would be on top...

How about this... Within 20 minutes of each other, I wiped out a 5 series BMW, and a stock Porsche Boxster. My Porsche loving/280ZX owning friend was in the passenger seat at the time and couldn't believe I was able to pull it off. I was pretty impressed myself with those two. Ya just gotta know when to make the jump. It's all in the timing. It gave my buddy motivation to start working on his Z again, and stop wishing he owned a damn Boxster.

nuclear power is right. those deloreans are powered by a Mr. Fusion power plant. makes power out of just about anything . . . .like beer and beer cans, banana peels etc.

word of advice...........If you drive a Chevrolet Equinox, don't try to outrun a turbo 280zx when you have a governer set at 99mph.

It was a 1st generation Boxster, so it could have been anywhere between '97 and '04. It was NOT a boxster "S" though... The "S" type would have smoked me.

as we are talking about racing ill chime in right about now heres my story....

a few things firstly iv fianlly fin respraying my Z, bright golden yellow and black, kicks *** in a big way... ill post pics but my computer illiteracy has come into play, culd some ne let me know how to do it

ok 2 things now, was on a cruise on saturady with my club, we had about 100 cars all together
cruising around my fair city, bit smaller than usual but was all good. at one point i had the police chopper with its spot light on my car lol kinda cool i guess.... its soo funny to see how the cops react with soo many cars on the roads, we r all well behaved but there is just so many of us it scares them lol, on the first stop we went to a big underground carpark in a shopping centre near my house,we rocked up with all theis noise and tyre smoke only to see a security guard sitting in his little hyundai absolutly shitting himself madly pushing buttons on his mobile phone. lol lol lol

second, i was talking to my old man the other night, and mentioned about doing a motor swap, cause i would need to get my 2nd motor reconditioned if i want it use it. ok so heres my logic reconditioning = $2000..... RB25DET =$2000....... sounding kinda good right now.... i can do the swap my self with my dad giving a hand when i need a 3rd arm. so looks like when i get off my *** and complete my restoration of the other zx ill be dropping the RB motor into the Z..... hmm 250hp stock

figure is from a mate who works in a garage, he has 2 skylines and a whole lotta spares, for a front cut from a breaker i would normally be looking at about $3500. but i think $2000 sounds nicer just qietly.

just so every1 doesnt start freaking out i dont live in the states, so sorry if any1 got their hopes up for a cheep RB, i Live in Perth Western Australia. thus id never actually buy a skyline beacuse they are too common for my tastes, the motor however is another matter

I think everyone should hop on over and read this page. It should clear up a lot of misguided opinions on the whole street racing thing. I found it pretty interesting anyways.

That's a really good article. It makes total sense. Now for an update...

In the last two day's, My Z took out a ricky racer Focus, and a mid nineties 5 series bimmer that had all kinds of fancy body mods and fat exhaust. At the very least, the BMW should have rocked my world. I took out both of these clowns at multiple consecutive lights, so it wasn't just a one-off fluke for either of them. The guy in the Focus in particular tried 5 times! and was getting really pissed off. The Bimmer only tried twice. Like I said both of those cars are quicker on paper and I made them look silly... Why? because of things like were stated in that article. I have a huge weight advantage over the BMW, I have a huge traction advantage over both cars... and lastly, I got the mad skills when it comes to reaction time and launching the car.

Those Aerostar's were sure under-rated.

These new PT Cruisers look like crap. When my 300zx was stock(now it's not and I just sold it.) I raced this guy who was one of the top dudes in this local carclub and his cruiser wasn't stock I know that, but I beat the living hell out of him. He got me off the line because I thought I'd put on a little tiresmoke show (HELL YEAH!!!) but after that I flew by him like he was nothing. My 300zx was also a 2+2(3900 lbs!!!) non turbo 5 spd. It was one of those moments where you couldn't wipe the grin off of your face if your life depended on it.

I took out another S2000 yesterday... Still don't know why everyone thinks those things are so damn fast. A couple little goodies on my ZX and I smoke them at will. You can see the guys that own them wanting to cry after they get owned every time. I love it.

That was a sarcastic statement as she actually ran me off the road into a street sign causing about $7000 worth of damage to my Z...

My Turbo Z has around 400hp...
