It was the Z31 300zx that had the injector recall. There were very few 280zx recalls:

this one that deals w/ the auto shifter:
http://www.automallusa.net/1981/niss...x/recalls.html

And it seems like there was one about a seatbelt recall.

Have you tried searching the web?

Yeah I heard there was something about the seatbelts in the 280zx. But thats all I know. No specifics or years.

Then you have me using 300ZX injectors in my 280ZX

Hopefully they will last awhile. They had gone 114k without leaking.
The injector recall was my biggest problem with using the Z31 injectors, but I finally said whatever and put them in. If I have to replace them I will, but for now I will stick with what I have. Plus I've even seen original Z31 injectors for going over 150k miles at least.

Yeah when I had the accident at 15. I would have been Superman, and splattered on a brick wall. NO joke, when it comes to seatbelts, I don't play or joke around. They have saved my life on my many occasions.

I've done the "Superman through the windshield" thing... Only it was from the OUTSIDE in! They haven't managed to make a seatbelt for motorcycles yet...

Seat belts don't all ways save lives!! A couple years ago in my 00' Eclipse GS, I was going down the middle lane behind a semi, Just driving normal 35 mph. He turned his left blinker on and got into the left lane, then cut right accross 3 lanes of traffic to make the corner. I had all ready started to slow down and when his trailler came accross my lane all I could do was hit the brakes and duck. My roof got pushed up and off like 2 feet. Since I hit the trailler in the middle of the wind shield, it bent the lower half of my a pillat back about 2 inches from where my face would have been. If I had a seat belt on I would not have been able to duck.

And great Los Vegas cops that we have gave me a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. I took that ticket to court and explained to the judge that if I had my seat belt on, they would of had to pull my face off the A pillar, even brought photo's. The judge said that the law was the law. ****'s... They gave the semi driver multiple tickets and his insurance paid for my car which was totalled

Now the fun part of the story When the cops came after the accident the first thing they asked me is I could move my car to the side of the road. I kinda stared at him for a moment and crawled in my car, started it right up, since no front end damage. Threw it in reverse and dropped the clutch. It squelled and shook for like a minute and came out from under the trailler. Parked it on the side of the road. After everything was said and done they asked if I needed a tow truck. Said no, I got one coming. They left, I waited for like 10 mins, smoked a cigarete, Got in my car, put my glasses on and my beanie, since it was winter, and hit the freeway to go home. 80 + with the roof bending back and shaking and what was left of my windshield laying on the dash, everyone I passed just staring at me. I still had the biggest grin on my face.

So what was wrong with the seatbelts? I know that they don't seem to have those tensioner things that lock up the seatbelt when you jerk on it. Heh, last year when I went autocrossing, the tech inspector was at first going to fail my car cuz the seatbelts didn't lock up (which I never realized). Luckily, an older inspector came over and told him that many older cars didn't have tensioners. So is the recall about that?

Back in the early 70's not having one on saved me too. There is no way in hell I'd ever try the luck of the draw again. I always wear my seatbelt.
