hey guys, ive got an 83 280zx non turbo, only mods ive done is MSD ignition coil, and a KN typhoon intake, here is the problem... i start the car, runs fine, drives fine, when i stop for more than a minit or 2 it dies, to start it again i have to turn the key off then on again and start it, starts just fine again.... when it dies, the tach hits 0 and it sputters out shortly after, my brother seems to think its the pickup plate... underneath the distributor, and that the new coil may have burned it out... i just needed to get your opinion before i go through a whole lot of heartache and sorrow with my Z.

 

that does sound like the ignition modual.. thats the black plastic electronic unit attached to the distributer...
