injector problem...help please if you can

I have a 1982 datsun 280zx non turbo that started and ran just a couple days ago we found a water leak when it was running so we took off the intake and exhaust manifold's and have since put them back on the leak was from the bottom of the thermostat...we changed the injector bar when we put it back together and now it only cranks over without firing and there is constant power to both sides of the injectors even when key is completely off...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael

Well, obviously that shouldn't be possible. I'd pull the efi relay(hidden in passenger fender next to battery) and check around in it. the center pair of connectors on the connector are the ones that feed the coil in the relay. You should have a ground on one of the center pair on the harness, and the other should be switched hot from the ign switch. The end pairs are the power to the dropping resistors/injectors. Cjeck the relay that the end pairs are open when not energized, and closed when energized.(if relay contacts melted together could explain always hot)
For the ground side, with ign on, jump from the neg side of ignition coil to ground on and off quickly. You should hear the injectors opening about every 3rd time. If not, in this case, I'd start looking for a pinched wire...
