I Need Wheels
Where Does Everybody Get Wheels From. Local Shops Around My Area Laugh At Me When I Ask. I Really Dont Want To Use Spacers, Because I Want To Have A Decently Deep Dish Look. And I Dont Want To Spend More Than $200 Cdn Per Wheel. There Is This One Guy Around Who Has A Set Of Centerline Billets From A Mustang. Will They Fit?
or you could get some nice big 17's with low profile tires...
Chances are your not going to find any wheels that are direct fit...dont use spacers tho, use ADAPTERS...

ive been using the adapters from modern-motorsports on my Z now for over a year and yes i drive my car everyday. at first i was a lil iffy about using adapters on my car but after having them on my car and driving it everyday.. ive got nothing but great things to say about them.. Ross at Modern-Motorsports makes a great quality product. i havent had any problems what so ever with them.. and because i have them ive got a bigger selection of styles of rims i can choose from..

I ran in to the same problems with guys at the tire shops laughing at me until I went to a shop that sold Centerlines. The Centerline billet wheels can be ordered in a wide selection of offset and bolt pattern configurations. I'm running 16"x7" Centerlines and no spacers.
I've heard that the 4 bolt pattern Mustangs (non-GT) from the early 80's have almost identical offset geometry as the 280ZX.

If your looking for a more deep dish wheel, just search for 2 piece wheels, most of the wheel companies will have all kind of off sets, just trying to find that 4 bolt pattern is the problem. I bought centerlines when they had them on sale for the late z's and they work great. Good luck finding the right wheels for you and don't give up or settle.
