Dunno if the equipment is the same on turbos and naturally aspirated ZX's, but the ones here in Cali who don't care about the emissions inspections have pulled the EGR valve, AAC valve, PCV equipment, and the carbon canister, not to mention the catalytic converter. I don't know if these mods do anything for the car since I'm stuck with the smog *****, but I'm sure someone else will be able to help. Biggest hp robber is a cat though, a hi flow on my car let the turbo boost .2 BAR more with no other mods.
