Help - Vacuum Adv line?
G'day,
I'm after some help in installing my new Vacuum Advance on the distributor.
The old one had a busted diaphragm, and the vacuum line had been removed.
Thing is, whilst I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to take the old one off and put the new one on (correct me please if I'm wrong!), I don't know where to hook up the vacline...
The engine is from an 82, though the car is a 79. And it's Australian, if that makes any diff.
Thanks
Travis

I believe to install the vacuum advane you will need to dissasemble the distributor partway. Remove the cap, rotor, and the magnetic pickup. There is on little screw holding the inner arm on the advance mechanism below the pickup. (that six star shaped thing)
The vacuum hose goes to the intake manifold. I believe on my '82 it connects to a point on the bottom of the throttle body. It will make a difference what year your intake manifold/throttle body is from. There were a few different designs through the years. The 82-83 I think is more simple and easier to figure out.

Does this pic help you show me where the line needs to hook up to?
I realise it isn't the best... wasn't taken for the purpose, and can get a video image if need be...
Thanks
