Question Head question Turbo P90A

As many of you know, I have a 1982 280zxt. It is my understanding that the 1983 model year got the P90A head, however, I have a P90A head on my L28ET. I checked the date on the drivers door and it says 6/82. This car has been a Florida car all its life and was sold brand new here in the Tamp Bay area...I have the window sticker.

My question is, how is it that my mid year 6/82 280zxt has a P90A head on it...is it possible that they were put on these cars well before 8/82? Do you think that this head was swapped in place of the stock P90? I know that the P90A is supposed to be quiet due to the hydraulic lifters but i do hear some ticking from under the valve cover....I am going to remove the valve cover and have a look see. If any of you have a pic of a P90A head without the valve cover on it I would like to see it so I can see if mine is the same and not just a P90A with P90 guts.

Not all P90As were hydraulic. A few came with solid lifters from the factory.
