A/F readings??

In an effort to make my Z run better I've decided to hook up the A/F meter I had in my truck and see how the Z is doing...

Here is a video of what the gauge is reading cruising in 4th gear (green being rich and red being lean). I don't know how accurate this is (probably not very being narrowband), but it smells rich when you get on it.

So, on the skinny pedal it runs rich, very rich, let it coast and it runs lean (no reading), cruise and it looks fine... sorry for the night movie hope it's viewable.

Does this look right?

I haven't been able to CHTS yet, where does everyone get theirs?

Looks like it's operating properly, but only if you're continually on and off the gas pedal... it should go rich on accell, level out after you attain a constant speed and go lean as hell during coast. Accellerator pump enrichment (yes, even on a fuel injected car, that's built into the ECU) makes it go rich on accell. Cruise it should level off or go slightly lean, and Fuel Cut should make it go VERY lean on decel. It shuoldn't be fluctuating full scale like that though, not as rapidly as the LEDs are lighting up.

The ecu does a sweep at idle, so the a/f gauge will do a sweep as well. If you go full throttle then let off, the motor will go full lean for a sec. My Autometer does the same thing. I plan on going wideband sometime...

Lots of youtube examples:

Thanks to both of you. It makes sense rich at full throttle and lean when off. I was a little concerned about how rich it was running at full throttle but I guess it's normal...
