Stick to name brand IC's, or factory ones. If you hit up the junk yards you can find sweet IC's for a good price (they usually sell them as "radiators.")

And I'm sure those "aluminum" pipes are plastic pipes coated w/ aluminum paint.

no no no, MOVING ebay performance parts are bad, that is just they get a core and weld on their own ends and keep it cheap, thats how they do their turbo headers to, the metal and stuff is all good its usually the welds that are cheap, but on the intercoolers since they arent under very much stress they are fine, i got one, it holds pressure and thats all that matters, therefore it works. the piping is fine, just look at the pictures and make sure they have T bolt clamps which they seem to, the piping is all aluminum and piping is piping, lol, and then make sure the silicone couplers are teh kind that have that kevlar material in them or whatever that meterial is, holds boost better. should be all a.o.k. and look at their feed back, if its all positive that means you should be fine.

Actually a lot of people have had success with the treadstone ICs on ebay like this one.

Well... not entirely. The end tank design and more importantly the quality of the core will dictate how efficient the intercooler is at reducing heat and minimizing pressure variances through the IC system.

There is actually science involved with developing a proper intercooler. The fact that an eBay simply holds pressure (many don't) is not the only important criteria, but it's the easiest one to resolve... if you have access to a TIG welder...
